This directly affects your approval chances. Add supplier websites, quotes, or emails.
🛒
Put equipment in the correct section
Items costing more than £100 each should go in the Equipment section. Items costing less than £100 each should go in the event section where you will use them (Cultural Events, Social Events, etc.)
✅
Complete all the required fields
Incomplete applications will be returned without review.
Unused Funding
If you do not spend all your grant money, we will reclaim the unused amount twice per year:
Friday 28th November 2025
Friday 21st June 2026
We claim money back early in December so that you can have funding ready for Welcome Week in January. We recommend you plan ahead in December and purchase what you need for events, before the spending deadline. You cannot keep unused grant money for the next academic year, or for after a reclaim deadline.
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
There is no maximum amount, but we consider: how much you need, why you need it, and how much money your group already has. Due to university budgeting, we may be allocating less than previous years to our clubs and societies.
We will email you within 1 week of the panel meeting (dates on main page). If approved, the money will be added to your society account typically within 2 weeks.
No - all applications must be submitted and approved before purchases or events.
Include price quotes, venue booking emails, website links where you found prices, and any other documents that support your application. Attach these files when you email your completed PDF to us.
Yes, but you must tell us in your application how much money you expect to make from ticket sales. We may give you less funding if you will earn money from the event. Talk to your coordinator before requesting funding for a large event.
Unused funds are reclaimed by the Students' Union twice per year - at the end of Trimester 1, and at the end of June 2026 (June 21st).
Applications for events more than 2 months away may be rejected unless you have previously discussed this with your coordinator. For large events requiring deposits, contact your coordinator well in advance to discuss the best approach.
